Hi, I'm Cara Anne.
I'm a photographer based in central Iowa, and I believe the best photographs happen when people forget the camera is there.
My Story
It started with a gifted camera.
I picked up my first professional camera at 15 years old and immediately fell in love with the art of photography. What started as a simple hobby quickly became something I was truly passionate about. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing so many amazing people and capturing some of the happiest and most meaningful moments in their lives. I love being able to freeze those special moments in time and create photos that people can look back on for years to come. Whether it’s a senior session, couples shoot, family photos, or a special event, my goal is to make every session fun, comfortable, and memorable while creating photos that truly feel like you.
My Approach
Photography as presence.
Light first.
I chase the golden hour and the soft overcast sky. Natural light is the most flattering, most honest light there is.
Direction, not posing.
I guide you into movement and connection — not stiff poses. The result feels like you, not a catalog.
Unhurried sessions.
I build extra time into every session. When you're not rushed, you relax. When you relax, the magic happens.
